My wife and I have always been interested in the possibility of going solar. The idea of using renewable energy and doing “our part” to help the environment is very important to us. After moving into our new home in Georgia, VT this summer, I decided to begin looking seriously at various solar companies. Green Mountain Solar quickly rose to the top of our list due to being a local small business with excellent reviews for its customer service. After an inquiry on their website, I was promptly contacted by their sales rep Marcus who completed a site assessment and walked us through all of the options. GMS has formed key partnerships with local financial institutions to offer VERY LOW 1.99% interest rates which makes buying the system more desirable so we opted for an oversized system to meet both the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s power consumption. Their Office Manager Tara is one of the most diligent professionals I’ve worked with in quite some time as she has kept us updated every step of the way. They even moved up our install sooner so we could begin getting the full benefit of the summer sunshine a little early! I watched the entire install over the 2 days and was impressed with how solid the products looked. The electrical and conduit work was exceptional (and I am a very picky person) and even though they had a few bumps along the way (as do most businesses), I consider this an awesome experience, and they come highly recommended. Any issues were quickly resolved. The end result was an awesome new system that really produces LOTS of power. We have since been able to install a new mini-split AC system and a hybrid water heater for zero extra power costs to run! THANK YOU GMS!”

“As I was investigating solar and making a list of installers who could tackle our rooftop project, I was impressed with what I saw on the Green Mountain Solar website. There was lots of information about all the components they use. There was considerable detail on the process and what to expect. And there were loads of customer referrals offering praise and expressing satisfaction with the work GMS did. The extended warranty, the helpful phone contacts with staff, and the remarkably positive comments from a customer I called confirmed my choice. I mostly spoke with Marcus on the phone and during a site visit, but all the folks I dealt with before and during install were helpful, positive and seemed invested in doing a fine job. Our 9K system completely filled the south face of our new garage roof and looked as if we’d designed the building around the panels–which is to say it looks great. The output of the panels has more than met expectation, and the Enlighten app for the Enphase micro inverters has proved a super way to monitor the system. Bravo GMS, and thanks.”

“Deciding to invest in solar panels is a big deal, and I got estimates from two companies based on prior reviews. GMS was by far the better option for me, as the salesperson actually came to my house and investigated the possibilities before providing a quote. He was a good communicator throughout. The other company just looked at my house on Google maps and sent me follow-up emails that seemed automatically generated (AI?). The GMS installation of storage battery and panels went smoothly, just taking 4 days total. I wasn’t anticipating that there would be various apps to control the system, but they’re not too complicated, and it’s fun seeing that you’ve made some electricity, even in winter. GMS worked well with my electric company, who are known to be a little difficult, and the new meter (recording power in and out) was installed within the 10-day window. I recommend GMS!”

Working with Green Mountain Solar was a pleasure from the first meeting to post-installation follow-up. Every GMS employee with whom we dealt was knowledgeable, informative, responsive and professional. On installation day, the work went without a hitch. I would give Green Mountain Solar even more stars than five if I could.
Green Mountain Solar installed an array on my house in March-2024 and it turned out great! I had been working with GMS for at least a year prior to that but needed to postpone the project due to unexpected house repairs. They were patient with us through all this and were still very responsive once my wife and I were ready to proceed with the solar project late 2023. Ian Veralli was our solar advisor and provided great support throughout the process! They do subcontract panel installation for some projects (including ours) but still maintain oversight. When they came to inspect the work done by the subcontractors they determined that touch-up work was needed to bring things up to GMS standards. For this they brought in their in-house team which completed the work quickly. The solar array has been doing a great job and hasn’t given us any issues. I would definitely recommend GMS to anyone interested in exploring solar.
This spring we decided to add solar panels to our roof, and a battery backup for our house. We were very impressed with the way that Green Mountain Solar led us through the process in turning this dream into reality. Our first meeting with their consultant was in person rather than online, and this same person helped us through the process from start to finish. Overall we are very happy with the decision we made to choose Green Mountain Solar over other competitors in the area, and we have been sure to speak their praises when talking to other people considering adding a solar to their household.
Great experience with GMS. Casey was great from start to finish explaining options, making recommendations and answering questions. Responsive! Installation team was excellent. All black US assembled panels look great. VERY happy with the process and would highly recommend Casey and GMS.
We worked with Green Mountain Solar to install a 10kW system for our home in Georgia, VT. Our rep was Casey and she was fantastic. They were highly responsive and helpful throughout the process, with great communication and customer service. We're really happy with the quality of the installation and would recommend them highly.
I researched several solar companies that operate here in Vermont and decided on GMS for a few reasons. First was the responsiveness and thoroughness of the sales rep (Shannon). He was prompt, courteous, professional and explain all of the in and outs of solar very well. The second was their reviews and feedback from other customers (a few were personal friends of mine) and they all recommended GMS also for a variety of reasons.Overall the sale and installations went well. The panel were being installed on a large garage that I was getting built before the solar install so there was a fair amount of back and forth communication with the project team. Once we finalized on a date, the installers (and electrician) were here promptly on time and installed and fully connected the panels (27 of them!) in a day and a half. They worked extremely efficiently, professionally and were a pleasure to work with.Then about a week later, Green Mountain Power came by and swapped the meter GMS installed with a new meter (to presumably deal with crediting back to the grid) about a week later and they completed that in less than 1 hour.For those interested, you can also install an app on your phone and monitor the solar power production near real time. I included a few screenshots of that here also.I'm looking forward to our first electricity bill (ya..I didn't think I'd ever say that either!) to see how much we will save!Payback for us is estimated at 8.5 years and then it's no charges for electricity after that. A win for our pocket books and win for the environment.I would highly recommend Green Mountain Solar for your needs if you are shopping.
