Our Process

At Green Mountain Solar, we take an educational approach. We are here to help every step of the way, and will never pressure you to sign.

That's the GMS way.

1. Free site assessment

We always start with a free, in-person site visit.

This first step is a must to get you the best system for you. One of our Solar Advisors will come to your site for a holistic evaluation to make sure we understand your needs, goals, and requirements. Your advisor will discuss with you your current and future energy usage, and measure your solar access to provide a recommendation on the best set up for you!

2. System design

Next, we design a custom system to fit your needs.

We DON’T scratch out a proposal on the spot and expect you to sign. That wouldn’t be right. Our team takes the time to review the information collected from your site evaluation, and design a solar energy system just for you. Our proposal will provide you with a detailed list of the solar equipment and services we’ll provide, as well as a detailed analysis of the system's production, costs, manufacturers warranties, our limited workmanship warranty, and available incentives.

3. Secure financing

Affordable, accessible financing? We've got you covered.

We want to make financing your project as simple as possible. To do this, we work with local lender, VSECU/NESCU, to help you find a no-upfront cost solution to help you go solar! To find more details on the financing process, visit VSECU's website.

4. Project management

Leave the paperwork to us!

We'll take care of everything from the state and local solar permitting to the utility interconnection, to make sure you’re ready to go on installation day. Our project team are experts on the local regulations required to go solar. They'll be there every step of the way to ensure you're updated and informed on your project's status!

5. Turn it on!

We make sure you’re powered up and ready to go.

At Green Mountain Solar, our master electricians  are well-versed in installing solar. They'll be there on install day to make sure your installation runs smoothly. We want you to be 100% confident. Once we've got you up and running, we’ll walk you through your solar system, answer any questions you have, give you a tutorial of your monitoring system, and most importantly, thank you for going solar!
